How we list and check shops

Where listings come from

We build each listing from public sources, such as business listings, directories and the shop's own website. We record the shop's name, location and phone number. We don't copy star ratings or review text from other sites.

Google has no category for golf cart repair, so most repair shops are listed there as golf cart dealers. We include a shop when it repairs carts, whether or not it also sells them. A shop that only sells carts is left out.

What Verified means

Verified means we confirmed the shop's services, brands and hours with the shop itself, by phone or through its own website. Not yet verified means the shop is listed from public sources and we haven't finished checking it. Call the shop before you go.

How shops are ordered

Right now every list is alphabetical. Nobody is ranked, and nobody pays for position.

Later we plan to score shops on the same factors each time: services offered, brands serviced, mobile or pickup options, hours and responsiveness, years in business, and the volume and pattern of public reviews. We'll publish the exact method on this page before we rank anyone with it.

Brand tags

We tag a shop with a brand, such as Club Car or E-Z-GO, only when the shop says it sells or services that brand. A shop that says it works on all golf cart brands is tagged for every brand, so it appears whichever brand you look for.

A missing tag never means a shop doesn't work on your brand. Many shops work on brands they don't advertise. We don't say a shop can't or won't do something unless the shop tells us so. If your brand isn't tagged, call and ask.

"Best for" and "Not ideal for" notes

These short notes will come from facts the shop states itself, such as the brands it says it services, and from recurring themes in public reviews. They won't come from opinion or hearsay. If a note is wrong, tell us and we'll review it.

Editor's Pick

We may award "Editor's Pick" badges in the future. We won't award one in any market where Sablewood Digital LLC has a business relationship with a listed shop. That includes all of central North Carolina, where Sablewood Digital LLC does marketing work for NC Golf Cart Repair.

Paid placement

There is no paid placement today. If we add featured listings, they will be labeled as paid, and payment will never change a shop's score.

Corrections

Anyone can ask for a fix. Claim or correct a listing.
